The build is slow and at first, that seems exciting. I want the characters to find a book and read me every single story. I’m insatiably curious about Althea’s tales.

This first two-thirds of this book are a brilliant urban fantasy. Sadly you can’t judge a book by its cover and all that. I will confess though that this book is absolutely stunning from the cover to the chapter head illustrations.
